Lifestyle 55+ Expo scheduled for 13 October 2021
Great News! We are excited to announce the new date of the Lifestyle 55+ Expo: Wednesday, 13 October 2021.
“October is Queensland Seniors Month so the Lifestyle 55+ Expo will be another fabulous addition to this month of celebration and recognition of our vibrant senior community on the Sunshine Coast,” said Sandra Reidel, Senior Events Manager for the Expo.
“The theme of this year’s Seniors Month is ‘Social Connections’ – connecting with one and other of all ages, cultures and abilities. The Lifestyle 55+ Expo is a perfect example of this connection and together we will make our expo one of the highlights of Seniors Month.
“The venue and time of the expo will remain the same: 9.30am – 4.30pm at Nambour Showgrounds.”
If you have friends who have not yet joined U3A, do tell them about the Lifestyle 55+ Expo, and as as special Membership Offer, prospective members joining U3A Sunshine Coast in August only pay $20 to cover the rest of the year, and they can also purchase one of our U3A hats or caps for a special show price of just $10!
If you haven’t yet heard about the Expo, it will be a day both interesting and fun, with plenty of live music, from the Bronte Band, The Kitty Kats (pictured above), the Buderim Male Choir and performances from Pamela Woodrow’s Tap Dancers, Wendy Turton’s Sunshine Chimes and Lorraine Quinn’s Ukulele players.
The main focus will be some 90 stalls promoting a huge variety of services to meet a wide range of needs and desires, in areas like health, legal issues, and travel. As well, there will be radio broadcasting live and magazine representatives on site, and the Sunshine Coast Council. Also there will be community groups, market stallholders, and a variety of vans for food, coffee and to refill your water bottle.
Our U3A has been given a prime double site in front of the stage area, and 17 wonderful members have volunteered to come along during the day to promote the benefits of “Life, Learning and Laughter” to the wider public.
Entry is free, and there’s ample parking in the Showgrounds, available for a gold coin donation in support of the Rotary Club of Nambour.
So why not make a day of it, and come along any time from 9.30 in the morning to about 4.30 in the afternoon?
