Returning U3A classes Term 2
Some U3A classes that finished at the end of Term 1 will be offered again in Term 2. These classes are now available for enrolment either online or by telephoning the U3A Office on 5430 1123.
TEDtalk Videos (21LEC206) Day: Wednesday
TEDTalk videos feature people of every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world, believing passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. With free knowledge from the worlds most inspired thinkers, and a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other. Normally between 4 to six separate videos are shown each session on a wide range of interesting and varied topics. This class proved very popular last term and David Williams has more new TEDTalk videos with speakers and topics to inspire, debate and discuss.
Kung Fu and Qi Gong for the Over 50s (21PEX239) Day: Tuesday
Famous Southern Shaolin Kung Fu system of five animals and five elements. Incorporating movement, breath and application. Interesting, fun, challenging with many benefits including strength, coordination, flexibility and a calm mind. Through popular demand Rod McShane has agreed to hold this class again in Term2. Covering some of the basics of Qi Gong it will also explore new techniques and applications.
Relaxation (21PEX242) Day: Wednesday
Everyone stores tension in certain parts of the body, often in places they are not even aware of. This course allows each person to be aware of their own individual body, where they store their tension and how to release it. Please note new day on which the class will be held.
AQUAFIT (21PEX208) Day: Thursday
Low impact water exercise is great way to build muscle strength, increase flexibility, enhance balance, coordination and improve overall fitness. Combining strength, muscle endurance and cardio exercises. You will love attending this low impact form of exercising.
Belly Dancing (21PEX241) Day: Thursday
This class is a combination of isolation moves and oriental Dancing (Belly Dancing). The Tutor will endeavour to keep it simple, fun and social so everyone can enjoy. All are welcome even if you have a disability. Dance is beneficial in posture, brain activity, lower back strengthening, core strength and as a tone up for the whole body.
Mahjong Eastern/Chinese Version (21GNP103) Day: Wednesday
Suitable for all levels of experience, learners welcome. A friendly, social group that is looking for some extra people to join the class.
