Sally Chandler has success with Art Classes via Email With a distinguished career as an educator, U3A Art Tutor Sally Chandler saw opportunity rather than obstruction in the current stay-at-home COVID-19 environment, and was determined to continue her ‘Watercolours: Realism to Abstraction’ classes while not being able to meet as a group. |

Queens Birthday honours for USC professors USC is celebrating two of its leaders gaining Order of Australia awards. Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Greg Hill became an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for his distinguished service to education while Professor of Nursing Jeanine Young is now a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her significant service to tertiary education, to medical research, and to nursing. |

Bernadette Moore joins Management Committee Recently appointed to the U3A-SC Management Committee, Bernadetee Moore has been asked to take on the membership portfolio banner. This is a new role in the committee so there is ongoing discussion on the duties of this role. Bernadette would appreciate hearing from members about membership matters. |

Studying at home – Year 9s have their say In a recent survey, Year 9 students commented about studying at home in Term 2 and what it meant to return to class. The responses to both questions were enlightening as were the parents’ views on the return to formal attendance classes. |
