Cheque presentation

Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Joanne Scott was delighted to receive the Frayda Myers Cooper Memorial Prize Endowment cheque for $25000, from U3A Sunshine Coast President Colin Maddocks and Immediate Past President Dawne Clark. Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Greg Hill, at last Friday’s celebratory morning tea held at USC, Professor Scott said the endowment was really special as it enabled Frayda Myers Cooper, a truly deserving individual – educator, life-long learner, and founder of the U3A Sunshine Coast, to be honoured for all time. She thanked the members who attended for the U3A’s generosity to and partnership with the university, as the USC really appreciates community support through philanthropy. Both the endowment, and the U3A’s 3 annual bursaries are helping to support students to do their best and reach their full potential through education.
