“Let’s be Happy,” the theme of U3A Choir’s 2016 annual concert on 22 October, certainly lived up to its name. The U3A Choir under the leadership of Kath Jeffers accompanied by pianist, Peter Williams, has been entertaining the community for over 20 years. And entertain they do! Even Elvis was there with Eric Greentree donning his black wig, gyrating his hips and charming both the audience and his many fans in the choir.
The 2016 U3A Annual Concert is actually a combined affair, joining with Sunshine Brass for a rollicking mix of oldies and modern. This year the concert was held at the Kawana Community Centre in Point Cartwright Drive. Choir members practise every Monday morning and this year proudly celebrated birthdays for our two ninety year olds. What vibrant ladies they both are and role models for us all. We also help spread happiness throughout the year with regular performances at nursing homes across the coast.
