Lecture – A stroke of poetry by Shelagh Brennand

Did you know that someone in Australia has a stroke every 10 minutes? In 2017, there will be more than 55,000 new and recurrent strokes – that is 1000 strokes every week. More than 470,000 people are living with the aftermath of this life-changing event. But there is hope – more than 80% of strokes can be prevented. The Stroke Foundation partners with the community to prevent, treat and beat stroke. We do this through raising awareness, facilitating research and supporting stroke survivors.
