Lecture – Chronic Disease Management by Denise Simmons

Chronic disease is estimated to be responsible for approximately 80% of the total health complaints including disease, mental ill-health and injury.   Chronic Pain is defined as pain that lasts longer than 3 months. (Therapeutic Guidelines: analgesia Version 5. 2015)   Even though there may not be a cure for chronic pain, there are many ways to suppress the pain and improve quality of life. Areas for discussion include Non-medication treatments and Medication treatments for chronic pain.
