Lecture – “Mr Gorbachev, tear down this (Berlin) wall” by Karen Leivesley

These words were spoken by President Ronald Reagan in 1987 at the Berlin Wall. Two years later, the wall was indeed dramatically torn down. The Berlin Wall represented the highly visible boundary between two vastly different ideologies.  This presentation focuses on why the Berlin Wall was built in the first place, and how it changed the lives of people in post World War 2 Germany and the wider world.
