U3A concert a foot tapping event
On Saturday 4 August the U3A Choir held their annual concert with the U3A Tap Dancing Group. The audience was entertained with a variety of songs from Mozart`s Ave Verum to Old McDonald had a Farm, complete with popup animals.
The audience joined the choir and sang a couple of songs together with the choirs closing song I Still Call Australia Home. The U3A Tap dancers showed their talent dancing to lively music by Harry James and Glen Miller.
The concert was completed by an excellent afternoon tea.
The concert raised over $1200 which is a significant contribution towards U3A classes materials costs and expenses.
The ladies meet each Wednesday morning for tap dance classes at the Dance3D studios on Sugar Road, Maroochydore.
The ages range from 55 -80 with our oldest member celebrating her 80th birthday recently.
Some of the members have never tap danced before while others have varying levels of experience as children.
It is a fun and dedicated group who are now in their second year.
